Hyacinth in the Snow

Smells of spring drift over the kitchen window over the sink where two hyacinth bulbs are in green glass vases. Two more are planted in plants, one in the studio, and several near a southern facing window. Two pots of paper whites are in the shower downstairs for a two week cooling before bringing them into the sunshine. Two amaryliss slowing slow leaves, they are very slow this year. While the snow continues to fall, I bring early spring into the house. This pink hyacinth bloomed today. Hope she says, look what comes from a bare bulb placed into water and put into a window.
