Poetry for Thursday
Spring
Clusters of wild violets
Nestle next to spring green grass buds
Hyacinths travel down the mountain side
Hundreds of blue purple flowers
Taking a hyacinth side step as I walk
On this first day of spring
I found radish leaves, spinach, and peas growing
A daffodil in the woods
Some animal digging up bulbs
Deciding the daffodil was not as tasty as intended
Before spring is out
Several will be dug out with one bite taken out
Buds on blueberry bushes
Finding it harder and harder to stay indoors
There is a poem that begins
“I meant to do my work today
But a brown bird sang in the appletree…
And all the leaves were calling me…”
