Wolf Moon Glowed

Poetry On Thursday

Wolf moon glowed
Moon glow sliding
brightly
across woode red  floor
waking me
from dreamless sleep
Two nights ago
Clouds tightly and quickly
Blanketed the moon
Moonglow gone
I felt the mystery
Wondering

Blustery winds
Sheets of rain came
Cold settled
Winds spit snow
Flake here
Flake there
Dusting
Melting
Dusting
Morning breaks

Snow
 Nature’s glitter
Sugar coating
Fluffy white clouds
Dance across baby blue skies
Snow blankets
Our mountains
This morning

Earth Day

In honor of Earth Day, I played All Things Bright and Beautiful on the organ at our Little Red Episcopal Church. It has been a cold, rainy, cloudy day here in the mountains.
The photo is of a small garden right in front of the studio. The black sculpture was created by Margaret Gregg.
In honor of today and in celebration of our precious mother earth I revised a poem I had written as an outline for a story.
Bored with the rain
She tosses seeds
Wind catches them
Creating gardens
She sits among the flowers
Sun streams  creating summer
She glides
Her long gown touching earth
Colors fly
Wind catches the colors
Creating autumn
She becomes delighted with all she has created
Dancing
Twirling in a silk gown of the brightest autumn colors
Wind furious
She dare acknowledge autumn
as Her supreme season
Wind erupts
Creating winter
Hurling her crown into the snow.

She replies:
I am queen of all I see.
I am queen of the stars, moon, and the sea.
I am queen of me.
