There are times in life when you really just have to be quiet and still. Sometimes the worrying, anxiety, and pain carry you to a place where your mind twirls. I reflected upon a telephone call from a dear friend who is dealing with a lot of family illness at the moment.
I thought of being at the ocean. Each morning I would walk the seashore standing still getting as close to the sea bird as I dared.
While I waited, I felt the sea against my body. The breeze from the ocean. Breathing deeply, I prayed a thankful prayer. The morning I took the photographs, the bird came just a bit closer. Somehow, the world stopped for a moment. The bird and I enjoyed the moment.
Later we both went our separate ways.
