leaf glass

The scarlet runner bean plant is growing inches each day up a shepherd's crook to attract hummingbirds. Trying to take this photo, I came face to face with a ruby throated hummer. His throat was just about the color of the red glass in these pieces. The sun is hidden through thick layers of early morning fog or you would see the glass sparkle. The glass itself is a black base. There are red and wonderful rainbow pieces of glass nestled on the black. All three pieces are covered in clear glass. They will become a necklace and earring set.
