Wind rustling spring green leaves
Turning and turning
Strong new leaves
Dressing tulip poplars
Covering mountain yard
As I transplanted ferns
blue of forget me
nots
I discovered baby marigolds
covered in fresh grass buds
acting like a surgeon
careful with silk root hairs
lifting out marigolds
marveling
are these from the seeds
I sprinkle in late summer
discovering catnip under the iris
finding a new home
in the herb bed
where thyme flowers
each day makes a difference
